Your Positive Steps/Strategy (participate in our reader survey)
by Jan Lundberg
18 May 2009
What is your path of action, that you can share -- particularly if it's working for you? Is it just for yourself or for others as well? For Mother Earth? We'd like to know, as would your fellow readers. This follows up the survey we posed last month -- that seemed to stimulate great ideas and vision. Now, consider:

Q.#1: Living life to the fullest means... (tell us briefly; we anticipate your answer will be "in the now" of peak everything)
Q.#2: Taking action, for solving a crisis or making a vital change, means... what?
Q.#3: When is it necessary to get angry enough or motivated enough to seriously defend yourself or your ecosystem?

Image Editor's introduction: While it's important to fight off the road builders who don't care about our common heritage of ancient redwoods, we must see the real reasons behind schemes. The idea in the case of California Transportation Dept. (CalTrance) highway "upgrades" is to pave over more of Humboldt County for corporate profit.

Cuba's Energy Use in Political Perspective
by Sharif Abdullah
08 May 2009
"Yes, there are more people on bikes than cars in Havana. But, each of those guys on the bicycle is dreaming of the day when the Embargo gets lifted, so they can buy a Ford."

Today's observation for Culture Change on climate and pollution policy is by author Sharif Abdullah, in response to yesterday's "Cuba And Dealing with Global Pollution" by Ian Angus:

Cuba And Dealing with Global Pollution
by Ian Angus

The world is getting hotter, and the main cause is greenhouse gas emissions produced by human activity. Enormous damage has already been done, and we will have to live with the consequences of past emissions for decades, perhaps even centuries.
